Book Release Guest Post: SAND STORM (Book two of Quantum Touch), by Michael R. Stern

For the past few days, I’ve been inviting people to my Book Launch Party for SAND STORM. The second book of my time travel adventure, SAND STORM, sets the stage for the books to come. In book one, STORM PORTAL, Fritz Russell, a high school history teacher discovers that his classroom door is a passage into the space-time continuum, when, with an unsuspecting class of 11th graders, they meet General Robert E. Lee, the day after he surrenders at Appomattox. The realization of his discovery is driven home when he walks in to the Oval Office and meets the President of the United States. Book one investigates how the portal functions, and what possible uses the president might find for a new technology.

SAND STORM continues the theme. During summer vacation, Fritz, Linda, his wife, and his friend, Ashley Gilbert, have spent the holiday thinking about the portal, but with school closed, don’t have the opportunity to explore. When the president calls and asks to meet, the new school year is tossed into turmoil.

How do you say no to the President of the United States when he’s asked you to stop a nuclear war?

After Fritz Russell discovered his classroom door was a portal through space and time, he helped the United States resolve a foreign policy emergency. Now the president wants him to use the portal to avert the threat coming from a Middle Eastern nation that is on the verge of developing nuclear weapons.

For a history teacher, travel to the past is entertaining, enlightening, and a great way to engage students. But Fritz hasn’t learned all the portal’s secrets. Could others put the world in danger by forcing him to use what he doesn't even understand? If he uses it to help the president, there might be a war. But if he says no, he will be permitting his family, friends, and the world to remain in great danger.

Should Fritz agree to be the heart of the US operation? And if he does, is there enough time for him to learn all he needs to know about the mysteries of the portal?

SAND STORM will be released in Paperback and on Kindle on August 31. Until Midnight (EDT), August 30, the Kindle version is on pre-order for $0.99. http://bit.ly/Sand_Storm
